Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) is a 500 bed tertiary hospital in Jos, the Plateau state capital in north central Nigeria.

JUTH provides a measure of emergency, inpatient and outpatient services. These include medical, surgical, emergency/trauma, obstetrical, gynaecological, peadiatric, psychiatric services and laboratory services.

The department of medicine of JUTH has a robust program which includes Gastroenterology& Hepatology. It is differentiated from other regional hospitals in offering endoscopy, dialysis, echocardiogram services. JUTH’s leading research areas include the Hepatitis viruses ( B &C) and HIV amongst others. JUTH is one of the best sites for the Aids Preventive Initiative in Nigeria [APIN] and has a world class laboratory dedicated to the initiative.

JUTHs contribution to the PROLIFICA project include an accelerated research question resolution (due to large patient load ), an eager team of workers and the proximity of the APIN laboratory.
